Seattle University

Dear Members of the Seattle University Faculty:

As you know, Seattle U has been undergoing an Examen Mission Review during this academic year under the direction of Fr. Peter Ely (my announcement has more information). The first stage of the Examen consisted of a number of listening sessions with the campus community and the drafting of a Self-Study document (Executive Summary attached). The second stage will involve a visit from a peer visiting team, scheduled for February 16 and 17. The members of the peer team are:

Eileen Burke-Sullivan (Vice Provost, Mission and Ministry, Creighton)

Bob Caro, S.J. (VP for Mission, LMU)

Patricia O’Connell Killen (Academic Vice President, Gonzaga)

Ed Peck (VP, University Mission and Identity, John Carroll)

The Peer Team will be meeting with a number of groups across campus to discuss the ways we’re living our mission and related challenges. I’m writing to invite you to an open meeting for all faculty with the Peer Team on Thursday, February 16, in Student Center 210 from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. (light refreshments will be provided).

Please RSVP to Allison Golden in my office. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Sincerely,

Stephen V. Sundborg, S.J.
President
